Who We Are
The Martensville Information & Visitor Centre, formerly known as the Martensville Community Access Centre, is an incorporated non-profit community service agency in the growing city of Martensville, Saskatchewan. Conveniently located in the Martensville Civic Centre, the goal of the Centre is to create community connections among individuals, businesses, organizations and service groups. The Centre includes a multi-service resource centre, providing a wide range of information, resources and programming for the community and surrounding area. It is currently the city’s only resource for job information and resume assistance, a service provided at no cost to the community. Community participation is vital to the Centre, and is accomplished by maintaining a volunteer database, providing networking opportunities, and organizing popular community events. On average, the Centre has seen over 2300 visitors annually for assistance, information or programs. Another 1700 people attended Canada Day in Martensville, the Centre’s largest annual event.
The number of people utilizing the resource centre has grown steadily since the Centre opened. The resource centre remains the hub of the MIVC, and has expanded to include more visitor/tourism information with continual expansion in the information that we offer. In addition to the community information, we continue to seek out more employment resources and support people to create resumes and to search out jobs both through our postings and online. We continue to provide 1 on 1 teaching for new technology users, on the device of their choosing. In addition to maintaining listings of local businesses and services, we assisted with the start-up of the Martensville Chamber of Commerce and offer our continued support to the newly formed Prairie Sky Chamber of Commerce.
